 Inspiration

I come of middleclass family and I am of sensitive nature. At the day of beginning I have been impressed very much by humanity behavior surrounding me. Since most of my family members belongs to labor group of economical system. When ever I would see their miseries and hardships in practical life I felt it very much. It is for this cause I took pen and start writing on this topic. And to refine my idea I've studied Karl Marx's and Friedrich Engels theory of (Marxism) and Antonio Gramci theory about capitalism in detailed.

And for my this installation I am taking inspiration from Danish artist Jens Haaning’s work in which he delivers empty frames to a museum to record protest against the capitalists. But somehow it’s a little unclear how conceptual artist Jens Haaning’s decision to rip off a small Danish museum is a strike back against the financial oligarchy.

Jens Haaning, Take the Money and Run, 2021

It is yet not clear how Artist Jens Haaning's decision to tear down the small Danish museum is a strike against the financial oligarchy.

I am not one to argue that all political or critical art should be activated, and I love the power of spectacle, which Haaning combined with great care and courage. But I would like to know how his intervention brings us closer to a society where exploitation of workers (meaning he is a victim) diminishes in some way. Like Michael Marcovici's 2009 limited edition book (How I Can Use Your Credit Card To Pay This Book Online) where he did so and sent the victim / beneficiary a copy and release of Paolo Cirio's 2020 release (where he shared art photos in auction houses (websites and resold as original works of art), Haaning here works by art theft as a way to criticize the relations of capitalist assets. Such artists try to do so within the realm of ‘art’ that stands both externally but also, at the same time, largely within the economic and legal system of capitalism.

So I'm taking the inspiration from Jens Hanning display I'm not talking about the ripping off the museum but I'm actually talking about the way he displayed his work, the empty frames.

Technical and Creative Work

Firstly, I will be needing a large scale for my work (which I will be getting made from a local welder). Its dimension is 3.5 ft high and 2.5 ft wide keeping the point to elaborate my view concisely. secondly, I'll need five to six bricks (to represent labour) and plenty of bills and jewels (to repress wealth). By manipulating the weight balance on the side with the currency and jewels to tilt down, as compared to the side of the bricks.

I take following steps to make fake bricks for my project.

  • First I get sterofoam and cut them into brick size.
  • Then I get guidance from brick kiln employs.
  • Then I collect organic clay from nearby mountains to give them colour. It took more than two hours to (mix) prepare the real organic brick colour.
  • Finally I give them final touch which look like real.

My this art has been presented in a such way with vivid and clear crystal manner which needs no further vehicle of communication to my audience. Every aspect capitalism cruelties has been elaborated so nicely that even a layman can easily understand it.
